Kia Dominates Initial Quality Study: Find Out Which Models Took the Top Spot!

Kia owners have once again reported the fewest quality issues during the first 90 days of ownership across four different vehicle segments. In the 2023 study, Kia Rio, Forte, Stinger, and Carnival secured top honors, solidifying Kia’s commitment to excellence. Notably, the Kia Forte secured the number one spot in initial quality among compact cars, making Kia the only brand to receive a J.D. Power Award in this segment for the fifth consecutive year.

The results of the J.D. Power 2023 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS) demonstrated Kia’s exceptional performance, with four Kia models earning segment-best honors. The Rio excelled in the Small Car category, the Forte led the way in the Compact Car segment, the Stinger shined among Midsize Premium Cars, and the Carnival claimed the top spot in the Minivan segment. Kia’s Forte’s continued success in the Compact Car category marks five years of consecutive wins, a remarkable achievement.

Kia’s outstanding performance in the IQS builds on its previous accolades, including being ranked as the top mass-market brand in the J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study for three consecutive years. These consistent achievements reflect Kia’s unwavering dedication to quality, reliability, and durability across its entire vehicle lineup.

The annual report examined feedback from 93,380 respondents, encompassing 33 brands and 200 vehicle models across 28 segments. The evaluation covered various aspects, including the driving experience, infotainment, powertrain, interior and exterior, as well as a comprehensive range of issues reported by vehicle owners.
