Bad Boys, Ride or Die

In Sony Pictures’ latest film, “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” now exclusively in cinemas worldwide, the 992-generation Porsche 911 Turbo S takes on a pivotal supporting role in this action-comedy, marking the third appearance of a Zuffenhausen sports car in the popular franchise.

This summer, the ‘Bad Boys’ return with their signature blend of thrilling action and outrageous comedy, but with a twist: Miami’s finest are now on the run. In this instalment, audiences will see Detective Mike Lowrey (played by Will Smith) behind the wheel of a black 911 Turbo S Coupe, complete with its distinctive rear spoiler.

“For nearly three decades, the Porsche 911 has been integral to the bond between the iconic ‘Bad Boys’ Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett,” says Dominique Tascioglu, Manager of Brand & Content Marketing. Ayesha Coker, Vice President of Marketing for Porsche Cars North America, Inc, adds, “Through them, Porsche enthusiasts have been created and inspired globally. Thanks to Bruckheimer Films and Sony for their passion and commitment over the years – it’s been an incredible journey, and we’re thrilled to see the latest 911 Turbo S in ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die.’ We’re also eagerly anticipating the return of the original Bad Boys car, the 911 Turbo – type 964, in its cameo appearance.”

Porsche attended the global premieres of “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” showcasing the film car from the current instalment and the iconic 964-generation Porsche 911 Turbo from the first film. In Los Angeles, Berlin, Dubai, and Riyadh, Turbo models from both the 992 and 964 generations made appearances. In Berlin, actors, filmmakers, and international guests arrived at the red carpet event in Porsche sports cars.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have been a dynamic duo since the nineties. The first ‘Bad Boys’ film, released in 1995, featured a Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 (964-generation) from director Michael Bay’s personal collection. “Bad Boys II” followed in 2003, and “Bad Boys for Life” in 2020, featuring a Gentian Blue 992-generation 911 Carrera 4S. The latter grossed $432.2 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film of 2020 and the most-watched instalment of the franchise.
