Volvo Car USA proudly joins in honoring the cherished Swedish tradition of welcoming the summer solstice by collaborating with American-Swedish contemporary artist, Shai Dahan. Together, they will transform a fully-electric Volvo C40 Recharge into a captivating piece of art, depicting the spirit of Midsummer in New York City.
Drawing inspiration from nature and Scandinavian folklore, Dahan will hand-paint a picturesque mural of vibrant intertwined flowers that symbolize both Swedish and New York City’s cultural essence. The sleek profile of the compact luxury SUV will serve as a canvas for this artistic celebration. This initiative further reflects Volvo’s commitment to a more sustainable future, exemplified by their goal of becoming 100 percent electric by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2040.
Born in Los Angeles and currently residing in Sweden, Shai Dahan is a renowned American-Swedish contemporary painter and street artist. His dynamic and colorful public artworks not only celebrate cultural diversity but also shed light on important social issues. Dahan’s artistic contributions have been widely recognized through various awards, grants, and exhibitions, earning him a prominent place in the art world.
