Mercedes-Benz has announced its plans to incorporate the North American Charging Standard (NACS) into its upcoming electric vehicle lineup. The integration is set to begin in North America in 2025, as part of the company’s commitment to offering a superior product experience and expanding access to major charging networks.
Starting in 2024, Mercedes-Benz drivers will have access to more than 12,000 Tesla Superchargers across North America. This expanded charging network will be made available through Mercedes-Benz’s own charging service, Mercedes me Charge, offering convenience and seamless charging experiences to its customers.
To provide an exceptional charging experience, Mercedes-Benz is simultaneously expanding its new Mercedes-Benz Charging Network with over 2,500 high-power chargers in North America. This initiative aims to establish a best-in-class charging infrastructure that caters to the needs of Mercedes-Benz drivers and enhances their overall electric vehicle ownership experience.
In a customer-centric approach, Mercedes-Benz is set to open the first high-power charging sites in Q4 2023. These sites will be accessible to both Mercedes-Benz and non-Mercedes-Benz drivers, further promoting the adoption of electric vehicles and facilitating convenient charging options.
