The McLaren Artura Spider has been crowned the Performance Vehicle of Texas and awarded Best Exterior by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) at the 2025 Auto Roundup, held at Margaritaville Resort on Lake Conroe. The event saw journalists rigorously test the Artura Spider, praising its dynamic performance and striking design.
“The Artura Spider was a hit with our journalists, never sitting still during testing,” said Cory Fourniquet, TAWA President. “Its Papaya Spark orange paint and bold design turned heads everywhere. It’s an honor to name the 2025 McLaren Artura Spider the Best Exterior winner and the Performance Vehicle of Texas for 2025.”
Nicolas Brown, President of McLaren Americas, added, “We’re thrilled that TAWA recognized the Artura Spider in our home state. It embodies McLaren’s signature design, unrivaled performance, and engineering innovation.”
The Artura Spider, McLaren’s first High-Performance Hybrid convertible, pairs a 3.0-liter V6 and E-motor hybrid powertrain, delivering 690 bhp and 531 lb-ft of torque, with a 0-60 mph sprint in 3.0 seconds. Features like Proactive Damping Control, carbon ceramic brakes, an E-diff, and electro-hydraulic steering ensure exceptional dynamics.
Built around the McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture, the Artura Spider’s carbon fiber monocoque makes it the lightest convertible supercar in its class, with a dry weight of just 3,212 lbs—up to 183 lbs lighter than competitors.
